Tuesday the Dow was up +267.63 (+1.05%) at 25,742.65.
Year-to-date the Dow is down -9.80%.

The Dow stock winners Tuesday were led by Dow (DOW) +5.15%, American Express (AXP) +2.40%, Caterpillar (CAT) +2.34% and Exxon Mobil (XOM) +2.23%.
The Dow stock losers Tuesday were Raytheon Technologies (RTX) -1.12%, Coca Cola (KO) -0.19%, Disney (DIS) -0.02% and Walmart (WMT) -0.02%.
Private payrolls fell by 2.76 million in May, according to a report Wednesday from ADP. The total comes on top of a plunge of 19.6 million in April, the worst in the survey’s history. Economists had been looking for a decline of 8.75 million. The reason for the wide disparity was not immediately clear.
Mortgage applications to purchase a home rose 5% for the week and were 18% higher than a year ago. The average rate on the 30-year fixed mortgage hit another record low of 3.37%.
Boeing (BA) struck a compensation deal with TUI Group, Europe’s largest travel company, involving Boeing’s grounded 737 Max jet. Boeing will provide an undisclosed amount of compensation to TUI and provide the company with credits for future orders.
European stocks are higher and Asian markets ended higher.
The national average price of gasoline is up four-tenths of a cent at $1.982 per gallon.
