The Market

Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open up +30 points.

Thursday the Dow was down -101.78 (-0.41%) at 24,474.12.

Year-to-date the Dow is down -14.24%.

There were 6 Dow stocks up Thursday.

The Dow stock winners Thursday were led by Boeing (BA) +4.26%, Raytheon Technologies (RTX) +3.98% and Travelers (TRV) +3.80%.

The Dow stock losers Thursday were led by IBM (IBM) -1.86%, Exxon Mobil (XOM) -1.79% and Intel (INTC) -1.77%.

IBM (IBM) will cut an unspecified number of jobs, the first workforce reduction under new CEO Arvind Krishna, who took over from Ginni Rometty earlier this year. A person familiar with IBM’s plans said that several thousand workers are likely to be affected.

European stocks are mostly higher and Asian markets ended lower.

The national average price of gasoline is up 1.6 cents at $1.942 per gallon.
