DJIA Market Happenings For Tuesday, December 31, 2019

Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open down -59 points.

Monday the Dow was down -183.12 (-0.64%) at 28,462.14.

Year-to-date the Dow is up +22.01%.

The Dow stock losers Monday were led by IBM (IBM) -1.82%, Disney (DIS) -1.36%, Procter & Gamble (PG) -1.28%, Home Depot (HD) -1.21% and Boeing (BA) -1.13%.

Boeing (BA) and Turkish Airlines reached a compensation deal for losses caused by the grounding of Boeing’s 737 Max jet. The airline did not specify how much it received, but reports in a Turkish newspaper put the amount at $225 million.

European stocks are lower and Asian markets ended mostly lower.

The national average price of gasoline is up two-tenths of a cent at $2.583 per gallon.

Nike (NKE) reported earnings on 12/19/2019 after the market close of $0.52, missing estimates calling for $0.618 per share.

Walgreens (WBA) reports earnings on 1/8/2020 before the market open.
