DJIA Market Happenings For Wednesday, December 18, 2019

Dow stocks at 52 week highs include Apple (AAPL), Goldman Sachs (GS), Nike (NKE) and Verizon (VZ). There are no Dow stock 52 week lows.

The Market

Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open up +26 points.

Tuesday the Dow was up +31.27 (+0.11%) at 28,267.16.

Year-to-date the Dow is up +21.18%.

There were 14 Dow stocks up Tuesday.

The Dow stock winners Tuesday were led by Goldman Sachs (GS) +1.36%, Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) +1.25% and American Express (AXP) +1.03%.

The Dow stock losers Tuesday were led by Walgreens (WBA) -1.23%, Intel (INTC) -0.69% and McDonald’s (MCD) -0.69%.

Stock futures were indicating a higher open Wednesday ahead of the House’s likely vote to impeach President Donald Trump. Investors don’t seem to be too bothered by impeachment as on Tuesday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average, S&P 500 and Nasdaq logged more record high closes.

European stocks are mostly lower and Asian markets ended mostly lower.

The national average price of gasoline is unchanged at $2.550 per gallon.
