Walgreens (WBA) is headed for a fourth straight advance, up 1.3% in premarket trade. Shares rallied 2.6% Tuesday on news that the company was discussing a deal to go private in what would potentially be the largest leveraged buyout on record.

European stocks are higher and Asian markets ended mostly higher.

The national average price of gasoline is up 1.1 cents at $2.623 per gallon.
