DJIA Market Happenings For Wednesday, September 18, 2019

The Market

Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open down -28 points.

Tuesday the Dow was up +33.98 (+0.13%) at 27,110.80.

Year-to-date the Dow is up +16.22%.

There were 15 Dow stocks up Tuesday.

The Dow stock winners Tuesday were led by Boeing (BA) +1.41%, American Express (AXP) +1.20% and McDOnald’s (MCD) +1.18%.

The Dow stock losers Tuesday were led by Dow (DOW) -2.06%, Cisco (CSCO) -1.10% and 3M (MMM) -0.94%.

The Fed two-day FOMC meeting ends today with announcement at 11:00 am PST. Fed Chairman Jerome Powell and company are expected to reduce borrowing costs again by 0.25%.

U.S. oil prices were falling again Wednesday morning after pulling back nearly 5.7% on Tuesday as Saudi Arabia said that full production would be restored quickly after Saturday’s attacks on its crude facilities.

European stocks are lower and Asian markets ended mostly lower.

The national average price of gasoline is up 5.9 cents at $2.651 per gallon.
