DJIA Market Happenings For Friday, September 6, 2019

Dow stocks at 52 week highs include Procter & Gamble (PG), Visa (V) and Walmart (WMT). There are no Dow stock 52 week lows.

The Market

Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open up +82 points.

Thursday the Dow was up +372.68 (+1.41%) at 26,728.15.

Year-to-date the Dow is up +14.58%.

There were 26 Dow stocks up Thursday.

The Dow stock winners Thursday were led by IBM (IBM) +3.41%, Caterpillar (CAT) +3.27% and Goldman Sachs (GS) +2.64%.

The Dow stock losers Thursday were led by Coca Cola (KO) -1.17%, Walmart (WMT) -0.41% and Procter & Gamble (PG) -0.37%.

The Labor Department said the US added 130,000 nonfarm payrolls last month, compared with economist expectations of 160,000. That was fewer than the 159,000 added in July but enough to keep unemployment levels near historic lows at 3.7%. Average hourly earnings increased 3.2% from a year earlier, the same pace as a month earlier.

European stocks are mostly higher and Asian markets ended mostly higher.

The national average price of gasoline is down three-tenths of a cent at $2.570 per gallon.
