DJIA Market Happenings For Wednesday, August 28, 2019

Dow stocks at 52 week highs include Coca Cola (KO). There are no Dow stock 52 week lows.

The Market

Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open down -53 points.

Tuesday the Dow was down -120.93 (-0.47%) at 25,777.90.

Year-to-date the Dow is up +10.50%.

There were 11 Dow stocks up Tuesday.

The Dow stock winners Tuesday were led by Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) +1.44%, Procter & Gamble (PG) +1.03% and IBM (IBM) +0.91%.

The Dow stock losers Tuesday were led by UnitedHealth (UNH) -3.53%, Pfizer (PFE) -1.44% and Boeing (BA) -1.20%.

The spread between two- and 10-year Treasury yields is below zero, an occurrence that’s preceded each of the past seven recessions. This so-called yield-curve inversion has happened multiple times over the past couple of weeks, but the spread fell on Tuesday to its most negative level since March 2007.

European stocks are lower and Asian markets ended mostly lower.

The national average price of gasoline is down two-tenths of a cent at $2.583 per gallon.
