The Dow Market Happenings For Tuesday, March 19, 2019

The Market

Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open up +118 points.

Monday the Dow was up +65.23 (+0.25%) at 25,914.10.

Year-to-date the Dow is up +11.09%.

There were 20 Dow stocks up Monday.

The Dow stock winners Monday were led by Goldman Sachs (GS) +2.12%, Microsoft (MSFT) +1.43% and UnitedHealth (UNH) +1.43%.

The Dow stock losers Monday were led by Boeing (BA) -1.77%, Disney (DIS) -1.60% and Procter & Gamble (PG) -0.91%.

The Fed begins two-day policy meeting and is widely expected to maintain the tone it adopted in January, when it abruptly put its rate-hike plan on pause and took a wait-and-see approach to future rate moves.

European stocks are higher and Asian markets ended mostly lower.

The national average price of gasoline is up 1.3 cents at $2.558 per gallon.
