Merck (MRK) stock fell 1.3% in Wednesday’s premarket. Merck immunotherapy drug Keytruda failed a Phase 3 trial for a specific type of liver cancer. The Dow Jones drug giant is testing Keytruda, already approved for certain cancers, for a variety of others.

European stocks are higher and Asian markets ended higher.

The national average price of gasoline is up 2.4 cents at $2.360 per gallon.
