The Dow Market Happenings For Tuesday, December 18, 2018

Dow stocks at 52 week highs include Procter & Gamble (PG). Dow stock 52 week lows include DowDuPont (DWDP), Goldman Sachs (GS), Home Depot (HD), JPMorgan (JPM), Travelers (TRV) and United Technologies (UTX).

The Market

Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open up +141 points.

Monday the Dow was down -507.53 (-2.11%) at 23,592.98.

Year-to-date the Dow is down -4.56%.

There were zero Dow stocks up Monday.

The Dow stock winners Monday were not to be found. In fact we had a record number of new lows, six to be exact. I don’t remember the last time we had six new low Dow stocks.

The Dow stock losers Monday were led by American Express (AXP) -4.28%, Procter & Gamble (PG) -4.00%, Nike (NKE) -3.63%, Cisco CSCO) -3.54%, Walgreens (WBA) -3.20%, IBM (IBM) -3.17%, Microsoft (MSFT) -2.96%, United Technologies (UTX) -2.94%, Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) -2.90% and Goldman Sachs (GS) -2.76%.

Boeing (BA -0.82%) gained more than 1% in after-hours trading after it boosted its share buyback plan by $2 billion to $20 billion from $18 billion and boosted its quarterly dividend to $2.055 per share from $1.71 per share.

Johnson & Johnson (JNJ -2.90%) rose nearly 1% in after-hours trading after it said it will buy back as much as $5 billion of its own stock.

European stocks are mostly lower and Asian markets ended lower.

The national average price of gasoline is down four-tenths of a cent at $2.369 per gallon.

Nike (NKE) reports earnings on 12/20/2018 after the market close.
