The Dow Market Happenings For Tuesday, October 2, 2018

Dow stocks at 52 week highs include Boeing (BA), Cisco (CSCO), Merck (MRK), Microsoft (MSFT), Pfizer (PFE) and Visa (V). There are no Dow stock 52 week lows.

The Market

Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open down -48 points.

Monday the Dow was up +192.90 (+0.73%) at 26,6651.21.

Year-to-date the Dow is up +7.82%.

There were 24 Dow stocks up Monday.

The Dow stock winners Monday were led by Boeing (BA) +2.79% and Chevron (CVX) +1.73%.

The Dow stock losers Monday were led by Intel (INTC) -1.78% and Walgreens (WBA) -0.60%.

The price of Brent crude briefly ticked above $85 to its highest level in nearly four years, sparking speculation that it could top $100 for the first time since 2014. Recent price hikes have been driven by the November 4 deadline set by the Trump administration for countries to halt purchases of Iranian crude.

European stocks are lower and Asian markets ended mostly higher.

The national average price of gasoline is up eight-tenths of a cent at $2.885 per gallon.

Earnings Reports.

Nike (NKE) reported earnings on 9/25/2018 after the market close of $0.67, just beating estimates calling for $0.657 per share.

Walgreens (WBA) reports earnings on 10/11/18 before the market open.
