The Dow Market Happenings For Wednesday, March 14, 2018

The Market

Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open up +84 points.

Tuesday the Dow was down -171.58 (-0.68%) at 25,007.03.

Year-to-date the Dow is up +1.16%.

There were 8 Dow stocks up Tuesday.

The Dow stock winners Tuesday were led by UnitedHealth (UNH) +1.87% and Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) +1.30%.

The Dow stock losers Tuesday were led by General Electric (GE) -4.44% and Microsoft (MSFT) -2.44%.

Wal-Mart (WMT) will expand its grocery home delivery services to more than 100 metro areas this year from an existing six cities as the retailer steps up a fight against rival Amazon.com Inc. Walmart said the service would be rolled out to more than 40 percent of U.S. households by the end of the year. Deliveries will cost $9.95 with a minimum $30 order and companies like Uber will provide transport. Other delivery companies will be added later this year.

European stocks are higher and Asian markets ended lowerer.

The national average price of gasoline is up one-tenth of a cent at $2.524 per gallon.
