DJIA Market Happenings For Thursday, July 27, 2017

Dow stocks at 52 week highs include Boeing (BA), Microsoft (MSFT) and Visa (V). There are no Dow stock 52 week lows.

The Market

Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open up +28 points.

Wednesday the Dow was up +97.58 (+0.45%) at 21,711.01.

Year-to-date the Dow is up +9.86%.

There were 14 Dow stocks up Wednesday.

The Dow stock winners Wednesday were led by Boeing (BA) +9.88% and Coca Cola (KO) +1.11%.

The Dow stock loser Wednesday was Nike (NKE) -1.73% and McDonald’s (MCD) -1.61%.

The Fed ended the 2-day policy meeting yesterday by not raising rates.

In the week ending July 22, seasonally adjusted unemployment initial claims was 244,000, an increase of 10,000 from the previous week’s revised level. The previous week’s level was revised up by 1,000 from 233,000 to 234,000. The 4-week moving average was 244,000, unchanged from the previous week’s revised average. The previous week’s average was revised up by 250 from 243,750 to 244,000.

European stocks are mostly lower and Asian markets ended higher.

The national average price of gasoline is up five-tenths of a cent at $2.287 per gallon.
