The Dow Market Happenings For Monday, June 12, 2017

Dow stocks at 52 week highs include Dupont (DD) and Johnson & Johnson (JNJ). There are no Dow stock 52 week lows.

The Market

Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open up +30 points.

Friday the Dow was up +89.44 (+0.42%) at 21,271.97.

Year-to-date the Dow is up +7.64%.

There were 23 Dow stocks up Friday.

The Dow stock winners Friday were led by Pfizer (PFE) +3.21% and JPMorggan (JPM) +2.37%.

The Dow stock losers Friday were led by Apple (AAPL) -3.88% and Microsoft (MSFT) -2.27%.

Apple (AAPL -3.88%) is down 2% in premarket trading after it was downgraded to ‘Neutral’ from ‘Buy’ at Mizuho Securities.

General Electric (GE) said Monday that its longtime CEO, Jeffrey R. Immelt, would retire at the end of this year, closing out a 16-year run at the helm of the industrial giant, which included a vast overhaul of the conglomerate’s portfolio but also an underperforming stock price that has trailed well below market indices and competitors. Immelt, 61, will be succeeded on Aug. 1 by John Flannery, the current president and CEO of the company’s health care business, and will remain chairman until the end of the year.

European stocks are mostly lower and Asian markets ended lower.

The national average price of gasoline is down three-tenths of a cent at $2.336 per gallon.
