DJIA Market Happenings For Monday, March 27, 2017

The Market

Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open down -158 points.

Friday the Dow was down -59.86 (-0.29%) at 20,596.72.

Year-to-date the Dow is up +4.22%.

There were 9 Dow stocks up Friday.

The Dow stock winners Friday were led by Nike (NKE) +1.79% and American Express (AXP) +0.46%.

The Dow stock losers Friday were led by Goldman Sachs (GS) -1.50% and Dupont (DD) -1.19%.

The Trump administration will issue an executive order on Tuesday that begins dismantling a rule under former President Barack Obama that slashed carbon dioxide emissions and discouraged coal-fired electricity.

The US dollar hits a 4-month low. The US dollar index has lost about 3% in 2017, and it is trading at its lowest level since November 14.

Gold trades up 1.1%, or more than $13 an ounce, at $1,257 on Monday.

European stocks are lower and Asian markets ended lower.

The national average price of gasoline is down one-tenth of a cent at $2.285 per gallon.
