DJIA Market Happenings For Wednesday, March 22, 2017

The Market

Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open down -53 points.

Tuesday the Dow was down -237.85 (-1.14%) at 20,668.01.

Year-to-date the Dow is up +4.58%.

There were 2 Dow stocks up Tuesday.

The Dow stock winners Tuesday were led by Coca Cola (KO) +0.76% and Chevron (CVX) +0.35%.

The Dow stock losers Tuesday were led by Goldman Sachs (GS) -3.77% and Caterpillar (CAT) -3.11%.

Nike (NKE -1.14%) lost almost 4% in after-hours trading after it reported Q3 revenue of $8.43 billion, below consensus of $8.47 billion, and said worldwide futures orders ex-currency were down 1%, weaker than estimates of up 3.4%.

European stocks are lower and Asian markets ended lower.

The national average price of gasoline is up two-tenths of a cent at $2.293 per gallon.

Nike (NKE) reported earnings on 3/21/2017 after the market close of $0.68, beating estimates calling for $0.524 per share..
