Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to down -25 points.

Monday the Dow was down -51.37 (–0.24%) at 20,954.34.

Year-to-date the Dow is up +6.29%.

There were 9 Dow stocks up Monday.

The Dow stock winners Monday were led by Caterpillar (CAT) +0.57% and Exxon Mobil (XOM) +0.45%.

The Dow stock losers Monday were led by Travelers (TRV) -1.46% and JPMorgan (JPM) -0.95%.

Exxon Mobil (XOM) said on Monday it would invest $20 billion through 2022 to expand its chemical and oil refining plants in the U.S.

The U.S. trade deficit jumped in January to the highest level in nearly five years as a flood of mobile phones and other consumer products widened America’s trade gap with China. The deficit in January rose 9.6 percent to $48.5 billion, up from a December deficit of $44.3 billion. It was the largest monthly gap since a deficit of $50.2 billion in March 2012.

European stocks are mostly higher and Asian markets ended mostly higher.

The national average price of gasoline is down five-tenth of a cent at $2.307 per gallon.
