Shares of General Electric edged lower in premarket trading Friday after the company reported quarterly revenue that fell short of expectations. The company’s fourth-quarter earnings of 46 cents per share were in line with forecasts, but revenue was $33.08 billion, less than the consensus estimate of $33.63 billion.

Procter & Gamble (PG) reported fiscal second-quarter earnings that topped analysts’ estimates as the company sold more new and premium products. Profit was $1.08 a share, excluding some items, in the quarter ended Dec. 31. Analysts estimated $1.06 per share.

European stocks are mostly higher and Asian markets ended mostly higher.

The national average price of gasoline is down six-tenths of a cent at $2.326 per gallon.
