The Dow Market Happenings For Wednesday, December 21, 2016

Dow stocks at 52 week highs include JPMorgan (JPM), Microsoft (MSFT) and Travelers (TRV).There are no Dow stock 52 week lows.

The Market

Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open up +9 points.

Tuesday the Dow was up +91.56 (+0.46%) at 19,974.62.

Year-to-date the Dow is up +14.63%.

There were 23 Dow stocks up Tuesday.

The Dow stock winners Tuesday were led by Nike (NKE) +1.85% and Caterpillar (CAT) +1.76%.

The Dow stock losers Tuesday were led by Merck (MRK) -1.05% and Cisco (CSCO) -0.62%.

The Dow really looks set to hit 20,000.

Goldman Sachs (GS +1.68%) was downgraded to ‘Neutral’ from ‘Overweight’ at Atlantic Securities with a 12-month target price of $240.

Nike (NKE +1.85%) climbed 3% in after-hours trading after it reported Q2 EPS of 50 cents, higher than consensus of 43 cents.

European stocks are lower and Asian markets ended mostly higher.

The national average price of gasoline is up seven-tenths of a cent at $2.253 per gallon.

Earnings Reports.

Nike (NKE) reported earnings on 12/20/16 after the market close of $0.50, beating estimates calling for $0.431 per share.
