The Dow Market Happenings For Wednesday, October 5, 2016

The Market

Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open up +44 points.

Tuesday the Dow was down -85.40 (-0.47%) at 18,168.45.

Year-to-date the Dow is up +4.27%.

There were 7 Dow stocks up Tuesday.

The Dow stock winners Tuesday were led by JPMorgan (JPM) +0.86% and Goldman Sachs (GS) +0.75%.

The Dow stock losers Tuesday were led by 3M (MMM) -1.92% and Dupont (DD) -1.42%.

ADP reports the private sector added 154,000 jobs in September. Economists expected ADP to report 163,000 job gains.

And of course, this Friday we get The Jobs Report where 174,000 additional jobs are expected.

European stocks are higher and Asian markets ended higher.

The national average price of gasoline is up eight-tenths of a cent at $2.233 per gallon.

Nike (NKE) reported earnings on 9/27/2016 after the market close of $0.73, beating consensus of $0.556 per share.

JPMorgan (JPM) reports earnings on 10/17/2016 before the market open.

IBM (IBM) reports earnings on 10/14/2016 after the market close.
