Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open up +9 points.

Wednesday the Dow was down -53.42 (-0.29%) at 18,400.88.

Year-to-date the Dow is up +5.60%.

There were 11 Dow stocks up Wednesday.

The Dow stock winners Wednesday were led by Intel (INTC) +0.53% and Coca Cola (KO) +0.44%.

The Dow stock losers Wednesday were led by Chevron (CVX) -1.10% and Boeing (BA) -1.04%.

Mike Andres, the president of McDonald’s (MCD) U.S. business and a key architect of the fast food giant’s attempt to transform itself through initiatives like all-day breakfast, will leave the company at the end of the year. Andres will be replaced by Chris Kempczinski, a former Kraft executive who was brought on by McDonald’s as an executive vice president last year.

European stocks are mostly higher and Asian markets ended mostly higher.

The national average price of gasoline is up five-tenths of a cent at $2.223 per gallon.
