The Market

Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open up +41 points.

Monday the Dow was up +113.27 (+0.64%) at 17,920.33.

Year-to-date the Dow is up +2.84%.

There were 24 Dow stocks up Monday.

The Dow stock winners Monday were led by Boeing (BA) +3.55% and Caterpillar (CAT) +1.84%.

The Dow stock losers Monday were led by Home Depot (HD) -1.94% and Verizon (VZ) -0.41%.

Verizon (VZ) will bid about $3 billion for the Internet assets of Yahoo (YHOO).

European stocks are higher and Asian markets ended higher.

The national average price of gasoline is down two-tenths of a cent at $2.357 per gallon.
