The Dow stock winners Friday were led by Verizon (VZ) +0.92% and Visa (V) +0.84%.

The Dow stock losers Friday were led by McDonald’s (MCD) -0.44% and Caterpillar (CAT) -0.17%.

Nike (NKE -1.73%) fell 2% in premarket trading after it was downgraded to ‘Neutral’ from ‘Buy’ at Bank of America/Merrill Lynch.

European stocks are mostly lower and Asian markets ended lower.

The national average price of gasoline is unchanged at $2.322 per gallon.
