Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open up +21 points.

Thursday the Dow was up +125.10 (+0.79%) at 16,069.64.

Year-to-date the Dow is down -7.78%.

The Dow stock winners Thursday were led by Caterpillar (CAT) +4.73% and Chevron (CVX) +3.16%.

The Dow stock losers Thursday were led by American Express (AXP)-3.01% and Merck (MRK) -2.32%.

Microsoft (MSFT +1.64%) is up over 3% in premarket trading after it reported Q2 adjusted EPS of 78 cents, above consensus of 71 cents.

Visa (V -2.23%) gained over 2% in after-hours trading after it reported Q1 adjusted EPS of 69 cents, higher than consensus of 68 cents.

European stocks are higher and Asian markets ended higher..

The national average price of gasoline is down nine-tenths of a cent at $1.813 per gallon.
