DJIA Market Happenings For Monday, August 24, 2015

There are no Dow stocks at 52 week highs.Dow stock 52 week lows include Chevron (CVX), Exxon Mobil (XOM), Procter & Gamble (PG), UnitedTechnologies (UTX), Intel (INTC), Wal-Mart (WMT), Dupont (DD) and IBM (IBM). It was a rough day Friday. The VIX jumped +46.45% to end at 28.03.

The Market

Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open down -852 points. The most I’ve ever seen.

Friday, the Dow was down -530.94 (-3.12%) at 16,459.75.

Year-to-date the Dow is down -7.65%.

There were no Dow stocks up Friday.

There were no Dow stock winners Friday

Dow stock losers Friday were led by Apple (AAPL) -6.12%, Microsoft (MSFT) -5.67%, Nike (NKE) -4.84%, Goldman Sachs (GS) -4.58% and Chevron (CVX) -4.39%.

In the first couple of minutest in trading the Dow dropped -1000 points. The Russell 2000 was down -45 but didn’t print for several minutes though. The Nasdaq was down -7.7%. The VIX hasn’t printed yet either.

Glad I only bought a little of the blood on Friday.

Chevron (CVX -4.39%) was upgraded to ‘Neutral’ from ‘Underperform’ at BofA/Merrill Lynch.

Nike (NKE -4.84%) was upgraded to ‘Outperform’ from ‘Market Perform’ at Telsey Advisory.

European stocks are lower and Asian markets ended lower.

The national average price of gasoline is down eight-tenths of a cent at $2.595 per gallon.

Earnings Reports.

There are no Dow stocks set to report earnings in the near term.
