DJIA Market Happenings For Tuesday, August 18, 2015

The Market

Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open down -39 points.

Monday, the Dow was up +67.78 (+0.39%) at 17,545.18.

Year-to-date the Dow is down -1.56%.

There were 23 Dow stocks up Monday.

Dow stock winners Monday were led by UnitedHealth (UNH) +2.31% and Disney (DIS) 1.76%.

The Dow stock losers Monday were led by Chevron (CVX) -1.99% and Cisco (CSCO) -0.71%.

Home Depot (HD -0.04%) reported Q2 EPS of $1.71, right on consensus.

Wal-Mart (WMT -0.65%) fell 2% in pre-market trading after it reported Q2 EPS of $1.08, below consensus of $1.12.

Disney (DIS +1.76%) was downgraded to ‘Market Perform’ from ‘Outperform’ at Wells Fargo.

European stocks are mixed and Asian markets ended lower.

The national average price of gasoline is up six-tenths of a cent at $2.664 per gallon.
