The Market

Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open up +61 points.

Monday, the Dow was down -127.94 (-0.73%) at 17,440.59.

Year-to-date the Dow is down -2.15%.

Dow stock winners Monday were led by Intel (INTC) +1.03% and General Electric (GE) +0.78%).

Dow stock losers Monday were led by Boeing (BA) -2.10% and Chevron (CVX) -1.61%.

The Federal Open Market Committee will begin its 2-day meeting today.

Procter & Gamble (PG -0.40%) will name David Taylor as next CEO, according to Dow Jones.

Dupont (DD) reported in-line earnings for its second quarter with net income of $940 million, or $1.03 per share, compared to $1.07 billion, or $1.15 per share, in the year-ago period. Its operating earnings rose to $1.18 per share from $1.17 per share. Net sales declined 11.5 percent to $8.60 billion. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $1.18 per share on revenue of $8.75 billion.

European stocks are higher and Asian markets ended mostly lower.

The national average price of gasoline is down 1.3 cents at $2.697 per gallon.
