The Dow Market Happenings For Thursday, July 16, 2015

The Market

Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open up +79 points.

Wednesday, the Dow was down -3.41 (-0.02%) at 18,050.17.

Year-to-date the Dow is up +1.27%.

There were 15 Dow stocks up Wednesday.

Dow stock winners Wednesday were led by Apple (AAPL) +0.96% and UnitedHealth (UNH) +0.69%.

Dow stock losers Wednesday were led by Chevron (CVX) -1.37% and Dupont (DD) -0.72%.

Goldman Sachs (GS) reported Q2 EPS $4.75 ex-items, well above consensus of $3.89.

Intel (INTC) rose over 4% in after-hours trading after it reported Q2 EPS of 55 cents, better than consensus of 50 cents.

UnitedHealth Group (UNH) reported Q2 EPS of $1.64, better than consensus of $1.59.

European stocks are mostly higher and Asian markets ended higher.

The national average price of gasoline is up one-tenth of a cent at $2.776 per gallon.

JPMorgan (JPM) will report earnings on 7/14/2015 before the market open.

Intel (INTC) will report earnings on 7/15/2015 after the market close.
