Dow stock losers Friday were led by Merck (MRK) +1.77% and Intel (INTC) +1.66%.

United Technologies (UTX) announced that it will pursue the separation of the Sikorsky Aircraft business from United Technologies.

European stocks are lower and Asian markets ended mostly lower.

The national average price of gasoline is up three-tenths of a cent at $2.804 per gallon.
