Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open down -48 points.

Thursday, the Dow was down -36.87 (-0.20%) at 18,126.12.

Year-to-date the Dow is up +1.70%.

There were 15 Dow stocks up Thursday.

The Dow stock winners Thursday were led by Dupont (DD) +0.93% and Intel (INTC) +0.89%.

The Dow stock losers Thursday were led by Caterpillar (CAT) -2.17% and McDonald’s (MCD) -1.36%.

McDonald’s (MCD) was initiated with a ‘Buy’ at Deutsche Bank with a price target of $120.

The U.S. economy contracted in the first quarter as it buckled under the weight of unusually heavy snowfalls and a resurgent dollar, but activity has rebounded modestly. The government on Friday slashed its gross domestic product estimate to show it shrinking at a 0.7 percent annual rate instead of the 0.2 percent growth pace it estimated last month.

European stocks are mostly lower and Asian markets ended mixed.

The national average price of gasoline is down thre-tenths of a cent at $2.736 per gallon.
