Alcoa (AA) is down in preopening trade after saying late yesterday that it expects an aluminum surplus. It also beat earnings after reporting earnings of $0.28 beating estimates by 2 cents.

European stocks are higher and Asian markets ended mostly higher.

The national average price of gasoline is up 1.1 cents at $2.399 per gallon.
