Thursday, the Dow was up +65.06 (+0.37%) at 17,763.24.

Dow stock winners Thursday were led by Home Depot (HD) +1.25% and Verizon (VZ) +1.12%.

The Dow stock losers Thursday were Mcrosoft (MSFT) -1.06% and McDonald’s (MCD) -0.48%.

UnitedHealth (UNH) shares are expensive at current levels and are ripe for profit taking, according to a weekend Barron’s article.

European stocks are mostly higher and Asian markets ended mostly higher.

The national average price of gasoline is up three-tenths of a cent at $2.391 per gallon.
