DJIA Market Happenings For Tuesday, September 30, 2014

Dow stocks at 52 week highs include Nike (NKE). There are no Dow stock 52 week lows.

The Market

Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open up +30 points.

Monday, the Dow closed down -41.93 (-0.25%) at 17,071.22.

Year-to-date the Dow is up +3.24%.

There were 10 Dow stock winners Monday.

Dow stock losers Monday included Chevron (CVX) -0.76% and Goldman Sachs (GS) -0.70%.

Dow stock winners Monday included Intel (INTC) +1.87% and McDonald’s (MCD) +1.61%.

Alcoa (AA) and Century Aluminum (CENX -2.89%) were both upgraded to ‘Buy’ from ‘Neutral’ at BofA/Merrill.

Walgreen (WAG) reported Q4 EPS of 74 cents, right on consensus.

eBay (EBAY) jumped over 10% in premarket trading after it said it will separate eBay and PayPal into independent publicly traded companies in 2015.

European stocks are higher and Asian markets ended mostly lower.

The national average price of gasoline is down four-tenth of a cent at $3.333 per gallon.

SYNNEX Corporation (SNX) reported third quarter EPS of $1.59 on revenue of $3.54 billion, compared to last year’s EPS of $1.24 on revenue of $2.73 billion.

Cintas Corporation (CTAS) reported first quarter EPS of $0.78 on revenue of $1.10 billion, compared to last year’s EPS of $0.63 on revenue of $1.12 billion.

Stocks reporting earnings today include:

CarMax, Inc (KMX) is expected to report second quarter EPS of $0.67 on revenue of $3.57 billion, compared to last year’s EPS of $0.62 on revenue of $3.25 billion.

Walgreen Company (WAG) is expected to report fourth quarter EPS of $0.74 on revenue of $19.02 billion, compared to last year’s EPS of $0.73 on revenue of $27.94 billion.
