DJIA Market Happenings For Tuesday, September 2, 2014

The Market

Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open up +20 points.

Friday, the Dow closed up +18.88 (+0.11%) at 17,098.45.

Year-to-date the Dow is up +3.15%. Nasdaq is up +9.7%, S&P 500 +8.4% and Russell 2000 +0.9%.

Last week the Dow was up +0.6%, Nasdaq +0.9%, S&P 500 +0.8% and Russell 2000 +1.2%.

Dow stock winners Friday included Microsoft (MSFT) +1.23% and Home Depot (HD) +1.07%.

Dow stock losers Friday included United Technologies (UTX) -1.04% and Visa (V) -0.97%.

There were 20 Dow stock winners Friday.

Boeing (BA) was awarded a $234.7 milion contract for the production and delivery of 24 AH-6I aircraft to Saudi Arabia.

European stocks are higher and Asian markets ended mostly higher.

The national average price of gasoline is down three-tenths of a cent at $3.434 per gallon.
