Caterpillar (CAT) shares fell after the construction equipment maker lowered the mid-point of its 2014 sales outlook, citing weakness in China. It also reported earnings of $1.69/share, beating consensus of $1.51/share.
3M (MMM) shares edged higher after the company reported earnings of $1.91/share that met analysts’ expectations.
European stocks are higher and Asian markets ended mostly higher.
