DJIA Market Happenings For Thursday, June 12, 2014

Dow stocks at 52 week highs include Travelers (TRV). There are no Dow stock 52 week lows.

The Market

Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open down -15 points.

Wednesday, the Dow closed down -102.04 (-0.60%) at 16,843.88.

Year-to-date the Dow is up +1.61%.

Dow stock winners yesterday included Merck (MRK) +0.55% and Exxon Mobil (XOM) +0.48%.

Dow stock losers yesterday included Boeing (BA) -2.30% and Nike (NKE) -1.53%.

Yesterday there were 4 Dow stock winners and 26 losers.

Still not much Dow stock news.

The World Cup begins at 4 p.m. ET. The tournament in Brazil is expected to be the most watched sporting event ever,

European stocks were higher and Asian markets ended mostly lower.

The national average price of gasoline is up three-tenth of a cent at $3.647 per gallon.

There are no Dow stocks set to report earnings until Nike reports in late June.

Notable earnings reports from Wednesday include:

H&R Block (HRB) reported fourth quarter EPS of $3.36 on revenue of $2.56 billion, compared to last year’s EPS of $2.54 on revenue of $2.20 billion.

Restoration Hardware (RH) reported first quarter EPS of $0.18 on revenue of $7366.30 million, compared to last year’s EPS of $0.06 on revenue of $301.34 million.

Stocks reporting earnings today include:

Finisar Corporation (FNSR) is expected to report fourth quarter EPS of $0.38 on revenue of $303.92 million, compared to last year’s EPS of $0.20 on revenue of $243.42 million.

lululemon athletic (LULU) is expected to report first quarter EPS of $0.32 on revenue of $381.16 million, compared to last year’s EPS of $0.32 on revenue of $345.78 million.
