DJIA Market Happenings For Friday, February 07, 2014

There are no Dow stocks at 52 week highs. There are no Dow stock 52 week lows.

The Market

Premarket, the Dow was indicated to open up +47 points.

Thursday, the Dow closed up +188.30 (+1.22%) at 15,628.53.

Year-to-date the Dow is down -5.72%.

The government Jobs Report said only 113,000 jobs were created in January. The unemployment rate came in at 6.6%. Economists expected the U.S. economy to have added 178,000 jobs and the unemployment rate to remain unchanged at 6.7%.

All eleven triple ETFs I watch that represent different market segments opened higher this morning and most are still in the green at this time. However, those gains are withering away quickly.

Data and charts are telling me the market has turned higher, but I just don’t feel it yet.

European stocks are higher and Asian stocks ended higher.

The national average price of gasoline is down one-tenth of a cent to $3.69 per gallon.

of $1.25/share on 1/16/14 after the market close.

Intel (INTC) reports earnings on 1/15/14 after the market close.

United Health (UNH) reported earnings of $1.41/share on 1/16/14 before the market open.

General Electric reported earnings of $0.53/share on 1/17/14 before the market open meeting consensus.

Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) reported earnings of $1.24/share on 1/21/14 before the market open.

Travelers (TRV) reported earnings of $2.68/share on 1/21/14 before the market open beating consensu.

Verizon (VZ) reported earnings of $0.66/share on 1/21/14 before the market open beating consensus.

International Business Machines (IBM) will report earnings on 1/21/14 after the market close.

United Technologies reported earnings of $1.58, higher than consensus of $1.53, on 1/22/14 before the market open.

McDonalds (MCD) reported earnings of $1.40/share on 1/23/14 before the market open, beating consensus by a penny.

Microsoft (MSFT) reported earnings of $0.78/share on 1/23/14 after the market close, beating consensus of $0.68/share.

Procter & Gamble (PG) reported earnings on 1/24/14 before the market open of $1.21/share, beating consensus of $1.20.

Caterpillar (CAT) reported earnings of $1.54/share on 1/27/14 before the market open, beating consensus of $1.28/share..

Dupont (DD) reported earnings on 1/28/14 before the open of $0.59/share beating consensus of $0.55/share.

General Electric (GE) reports earnings on 1/28/14 before the open.

Pfizer (PFE) reported earnings on 1/28/14 before the open of $0.56/share beating consensus of $0.52/share.

AT&T (T) reported adjusted earnings on 1/28/14 after the market close of $0.53/share, beating consensus of $0.50/share.

Boeing (BA) reported core earnings on 1/29/14 before the market open of $1.88/share, beating consensus of $1.57/share.

3M (MMM) reported earnings on 1/30/14 before the market open of $1.62/share, meeting consensus.

Kellogg (K) reported fourth quarter EPS of $0.83, beating the consensus estimate of $0.82. Revenue of $3.5 billion missed the consensus estimate of $3.52 billion.

General Motors (GM) reported fourth quarter EPS of $0.67, missing the consensus estimate of $0.87. Revenue of $40.5 billion missed the consensus estimate of $40.89 billion.

Teva Pharmaceuticals (TEVA) reported fourth quarter EPS of $1.42, beating the consensus estimate of $1.40. Revenue of $5.45 billion beat the consensus estimate of $5.02 billion.

LinkedIn (LNKD) reported fourth quarter EPS OF $0.39, beating the consensus estimate of $0.38. Revenue of $447.2 million beat the consensus estimate of $438.28 million.
