The Market

Tuesday the Dow closed down -32.43 (-0.21%) at 15,750.67.

Premarket, the Dow was indicated to open down -80 points.

Year-to-date the Dow is up +20.20%.

Investors are still speculating on when the Fed will reduce quantitative easing. Recent commentary by Fed officials continues to confound, with some for more stimulus and some for less.

There are only two Dow stocks in the red for the year, Caterpillar Inc. (CAT) -6.43% and International Business Machines Co. (IBM) -4.43%.

The biggest Dow stock returns belong to Boeing Co. (BA) +75.60% and Nike Inc. (NKE) +48.97%.

European stocks are lower and Asian stocks ended lower.

The national average price of gasoline is up seven-tenths of a cent to $3.186 per gallon. Gas at our local Gig Harbor Costco was $3.069. Yay!

Cisco Systems Inc. (CSCO) reports earnings today after the market close.

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (WMT) reports earnings on 11/14/13 before the market open.

Home Depot (HD) will report earnings on 11/19/13 before the market open.

Earnings reports from Tuesday include:

D.R. Horton, Inc. (DHI) reported fourth quarter EPS of $0.40 on revenue of $1.82 billion, compared to last year’s EPS of $0.30 on revenue of $1.30 billion.

DISH Network Corporation (DISH) reported third quarter ESP of $0.68 on revenue of $3.60 billion, compared to last year’s loss of $0.35 on revenue of $3.52 billion.

YRC Worldwide, Inc. (YRCW) reported a third quarter loss of $4.45 on revenue of $1.25 billion, compared to last year’s loss of $4.30 on revenue of $1.24 billion.
