The New York Times reports the SEC is looking into JPMorgan’s (JPM) hiring practices in China. At issue is whether JPM hired the children of powerful Chinese officials to get more business in the booming nation.
The Fed minutes are due Wednesday.
European markets are lower and Asian markets ended mixed.
The national average price of gasoline is down two-tenths of a cent at $3.538 per gallon.

Vanguard Health Systems (VHS) is expected to report fourth quarter EPS of $0.19 vs. $0.23 on last year’s revenue of $1.45 billion.
Urban Outfitters, Inc. (URBN) is expected to report second quarter EPS of $0.48 on revenue $768.76 million, up from last year’s EPS of $0.42 on $676.27 million.
