The Market

Tuesday the Dow closed up +75.65 (+0.50%) at 15,300.34

This morning the Dow was indicated to open up +16 points.

Hewlett-Packard (HPQ) shares were up premarket after Brean Capital raised the stock to buy from hold and announced a $32 price target.

The Federal Reserve releases the minutes of its most recent policy meeting at 2 p.m. ET.

Today we have Fed chairman Ben Bernanke’s speech before the National Bureau of Economic Research in Cambridge, Mass., scheduled after the markets close.

European markets are lower and Asian markets ended mixed.

The national average price of gasoline is up 1.8 cents to $3.501 per gallon.
