The Market
Friday the Dow closed up +11.75 (+0.08%) at 14,712.55.
Last week DJIA was up +1.1%, Nasdaq +2.2%, S&P 500 +1.7% and the Russell 2000 +2.5%.
Year-to-date DJIA is up +12.3%, Nasdaq +8.6%, S&P 500 +10.9% and Russell 2000 +10.1%.
This morning the Dow is indicated to open up +47 points.
Disney (DIS) shares are up premarket ahead of the summer blockbuster season with pre-sales for Iron Man 3 appearing strong. The company also reports earnings on 5/7/13.
The Fed meets this week and Friday we get the jobs report.
U.S. personal income and spending, both rose 0.2% in March.
Friday, the government reported that the U.S. economy grew at an annual pace of 2.5% in the first quarter.
European markets are higher and Asian markets ended mostly lower.
The national average price of gasoline is down five-tenths of a cent to $3.500 per gallon from last Friday.
