The Jobs Report: Market Happenings For Friday, March 08, 2013

For Dow stocks, BA, CSCO, CVX JNJ, JPM, PFE and UTX are all at 52 week highs. There are no Dow stock 52 week lows.

The Market

Thursday, the Dow made new a new high and closed up, at 14,329.49.

Premarket, the Dow is indicated to open up +83.

The government Jobs Report showed that 236,000 jobs were added to the economy in February, and the unemployment rate dropped to 7.7% from 7.9%. Much better than the 170,000 and 7.8% expected by economists.

European markets are up and Asian markets ended mostly higher.

The national average price of gasoline is down seven-tenths of a cent to $3.712 per gallon.
