DJIA Market Close For Week Ending Friday, January 25, 2013

The Dow closed up +70.65 (+0.51%) at 13,895.98. Only just more than 104 points to hit Dow 14,000.

The S&P 500 reclaimed 1500, closing at 1502.96.

For the week DJIA is up +1.8%, Nasdaq +0.5%, S&P 500 +1.1% and Russell 2000 +1.4%.

Year-to-date DIA is up +6.0%, Nasdaq +4.3%, S&P 500 +5.4% and Russell 2000 +6.6%.

Among the Dow stocks there were 23 winners led by PG (+4.02%), JPM (+1.70%), JNJ (+1.12%), GE (+1.09%) and MRK (+1.07%).

The 7 Dow losers were WMT (-1.13%), CAT (-1.06%), BA (-0.39%), UNH (-0.32%), KP, HPQ and AA.

Procter & Gamble (PG) led the Dow gainers after earnings topped expectations and the company raised its outlook for earnings and share repurchases in 2013.

Microsoft (MSFT) and AT&T (T) shares were also up following their earnings.

The dollar was down versus the euro and the British pound, but gained versus the Japanese yen.

Oil prices and gold prices were down a bit.

The price of the 10-year Treasury was down, pushing the yield up to 1.95% from 1.84% from late Thursday.
