DJIA Market Close For Monday, November 05, 2012

Well, I’ve already voted, how about you? By mail that is. I wonder what percentage of this election voting will be done by mail?

The Dow closed up +19.28 (+0.15%) at 13,112.44.

There were 16 Dow stocks up, led by HPQ (+1.82%), CAT, DIS, CVX, MMM and MCD.

There were 14 Dow stocks down, led by UNH (-1.37%), BAC, INTC, KO, PG and TRV.

European and Asian stocks ended lower.

The dollar was up against the euro and British pound but fell a bit versus the Japanese yen.

Oil for December delivery added 79 cents to settle at $85.65 a barrel.

Gold futures for December delivery rose $8 to end at $1,683.20 an ounce.

The price on the benchmark 10-year U.S. Treasury was up, pushing the yield down to 1.69% from 1.73% late Friday.

Tomorrow we get to look forward to an evening of counting votes and seeing the winners and the losers.
