The Dow was up +136.16 (+1.04%) at 13,232.62. Do I sense Turkey Rally? Maybe…
It was a good day for me with PSVIX up +1.31%, more than the Russell 2000’s +1.11% day.
However, I could not get a quate on ODVYX for some reason. Maybe they are having storm troubles. That said, EEM was up +1.63%, so maybe ODVYX will come in somewhere near that.
Whatever, it was a good day.
Dow stock winners, 26 of them, were led by BAC (+4.51%), MSFT, CAT, INTC, JPM, AA and CSCO, all up more than 2% and some much more.
There were 3 Dow stock losers, WMT (-2.09%), PFE (reported earnings this morning) and TRV.
McDonald’s (MCD) was unchanged.
Tomorrow morning, Friday, it is expected for the jobs report to show the economy to have added 125,000 jobs in October, up from 114,000 the prior month, with the unemployment rate ticking up to 7.9%, from 7.8% in September. Anyway, that’s what is expected.
The dollar was up versus the euro, British pound and Japanese yen.
Oil for December delivery was up 85 cents to settle at $87.09 a barrel.
Gold futures for December delivery lost $3.60 to settle at $1,715.50 an ounce.
The price on the benchmark 10-year U.S. Treasury was lower, pushing the yield higher to 1.72% from 1.69% late Wednesday.
