DJIA Market Close For Wednesday, October 24, 2012

The Dow lost -25.19 (-0.19%) to close at 13,077.34. It was another crap day. Nothing worthwhile from the Fed either (as expected).

There were 8 Dow stocks up, led by UTX (+1.06%), PG, JPM, KO and PFE.

Them 22 losers. They were led lower by CSCO (-3.50%), HPQ, CAT, AA,T and MCD.

Tomorrow we have earnings from PG before the open.

The Federal Reserve’s latest policy statement didn’t signal any major changes to interest rates or the central bank’s plan to stimulate the economy through large bond-buying programs.

The dollar was up against the euro, but fell versus the British pound and the Japanese yen.

Oil for December delivery slipped 94 cents to $85.73 a barrel.

Gold futures for December delivery lost $7.80 to $1,701.60 an ounce.

The price on the benchmark 10-year U.S. Treasury edged lower, pushing the yield up to 1.77% from 1.76% late Tuesday.
