DJIA Market Close For Wednesday, September 26, 2012

The Dow closed down -44.04 (-0.33%) at 13,413.51.

There were no Dow stocks making 52 week highs today.

There were 45 stocks making new 52 week lows today and HPQ, a Dow component, was one of them.

Demonstrators took to the streets in Greece to protest new austerity measures.

Anti-austerity protests in Madrid turned violent ahead of the Spanish government’s release of its 2013 budget plan.

Yields on 10-year Spanish bonds shot up to 6.06%.

European Central Bank President Mario Draghi said….

Ah, nobody cares what he said.

European stocks finished sharply lower.

Oil prices tumbled almost 2%, falling below $90 a barrel.

Asian markets ended in the red.

Gold futures for December delivery fell $12.80 to settle at $1,753.60 an ounce.

The price on the benchmark 10-year U.S. Treasury was up a bit, pushing the yield down to 1.62% from 1.68% late Wednesday.
