After the close…
We have GMCR -13.8% following earnings and CYH offers $6.00 per share for THC.
Financial stocks mounted another strong performance, however the broader market was slow to follow. The S&P 500 finished the day with only a modest gain. After the close notable stocks reporting earnings include ALOG, ESL, GMCR, LTRE, NSM, PLL, QTWW and SEAB.
Futures are lower after hours: S&P 500 futures are -0.15 from fair value of 1227.45 and Nasdaq 100 futures -2.54 points from fair value of 2199.99.
Eight of the ten sectors were in positive territory, led by financials (+1.3%), telecom (+1.1%), consumer staples (+0.4%).
Tomorrow morning before the open we have two economic reports scheduled to be released: trade balance (Consensus -$44.5 bln) and 2) export prices ex-ag. (Consensus NA) and import prices ex-oil (Consensus NA).
Also tomorrow before the open JTX is expected to report earnings.
NOTE: ^SML was last at this price level on 12/27/2007. Almost three years ago. Today ^SML was up .31% and PSVIX (my mutual fund of choice) was up .20%.
