Market Close for Wednesday, September 22, 2010

After the close…

We have RHT +4.5% following earnings/guidance.

The three major indices ended lower on Tuesday with varied losses as tech stocks and financial shares were cut down by participants, many of whom showed favor for precious metals amid a drop in the dollar. After the close BBBY, CPRT, HIS, RHT and SCS were the most notable names that reported earnings.

Futures are mixed after hours: S&P 500 futures are +0.34 from fair value of 1129.46 and Nasdaq100 futures -0.98 points from fair value of 1980.48.

Six of the ten sectors were in negative territory, led by financials (-1.6%), consumer discretionary (-0.7%) and tech (-0.6%).

Before the open tomorrow there is one economic report scheduled to be released: Initial claims (Consensus 450K) and Continuing claims (Consensus 4450K) report.

Tomorrow KMX, GIS, and JEF are scheduled to report earnings before the open.
